Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupoints in the body by inserting very thin needles into the skin.  Sometimes heat, pressure, or mild electrical current are used along with the needles.   Acupuncture is a traditional component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and uses the stimulation of acupoints to correct the flow of qi energy that flows through the body through meridians. Acupuncture treats a wide range of conditions and is commonly used for pain relief.
